The Central Mechanical and Equipment Department, the transportation wing of government, is on the market hiring vehicles for use during the Common Market for East and Southern Africa summit to be held in Victoria Falls next month.
This is one of the clearest signs that the mega summit, which was twice deferred, is now becoming a reality.
CMED said they were looking for Prados, Pajeros and Jeeps for use during the summit which is going to be attended by representatives from 19 countries and these would include heads of state and government.
“CMED would like to complement the fleet of vehicles to be used to facilitate COMESA,” said CMED.
The company said they were inviting members of the public, companies and civil servants who own the said vehicles to hire them out for the duration of the summit.
CMED also emphasised that it is only those vehicles which are certified fit which are going to be accepted.
Hosting the COMESA summit is a window opportunity for the country to show that there is stability now prevailing in the country.
It is also a chance to market some of the tourist resorts within Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas.
