Econet Wireless, the country’s leading telecommunications firm has launched another promotion where customers get a line and a wide range of phones. Under the promotion, customers get a Buddy line, with US$10 worth of airtime and US$10 worth of txt messages (which means one would be able to send as many as 150 short message texts).
Cellphones under this promotion are valued between US$60 and US$1 104.
At US$60 customers get an A35 phone and an A36 phone is US$5 higher.
A Nokia 1202 is valued at US$83 with a Nokia 1209 with a colour screen, speakerphone and polyphonic ringtones at US$92.
From the modest phones, there are the top of the range handsets such as the Nokia 2680 with a camera phone, video capture and bluetooth enable going for US$2336.
A Nokia E75 with a camera phone with VGA rcorder video player and video streaming, Windows Media Player, built in FM radio, QWERTY key organizer with phonebook costs US$1 104.
This is the second time in three months that the blue chip Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed concern has launched a promotion where customers buy lines as well as phones. This is in line with international trends where service providers offer packages which include both lines and handsets.
Apart from the attractive promotions, the telecommunications giant has also released 50 000 lines which to a very large extent has seen them increasing their subscriber base and they remain the largest player.
