The Zimbabwe Allied Banking Group has started offering money transfer services. This comes after the banking group became the official agent of MoneyGram International Money Transfers.
Becoming an official agent of the international money transfer firm means that the banking group can now receive money on behalf of locals.
“This means that you can now send money from anywhere in the world to anyone in Zimbabwe and they can collect it from any ZABG Bank branch countrywide. If you are in Zimbabwe, this means you can ask relatives abroad to send money through MoneyGram and you can collect it from our numerous branches countrywide. ZABG-MoneyGram is a safe, fast and secure way of sending and receiving money. Above all, our service is second to none” said the bank.
ZABG has become a force to reckon with in the banking sector despite its modest origins. It literally emerged from the ashes of three banking institutions which had failed to stand the heat following sweeping changes in the sector. When Trust, Royal and Barbican banks were placed under a curator following a liquidity crunch, many were pessimistic that the creature to emerge from the trio would last. However, it looks like at the moment the bank is enjoying its place and it is coming up with a whole mix of offers to further consolidate its position on the market.
